About This Access Site
Osborn Bay Lake offers year-round access to Banks Lake, a large 60,000+ acre reservoir in Grant County near Electric City. The access area features two concrete boat launch ramps suitable for motorboats and larger watercraft: Northup Canyon Boat Launch (a two-lane ramp with docks and paved parking in the northeast section) and Osborn Bay Campground Boat Launch (a two-lane ramp with dock and gravel parking, also northeast). A Discover Pass is required. Kayakers and canoeists can launch from either ramp, though those seeking hand launch alternatives may want to scout the area beforehand, as formal hand-launch facilities are not currently listed.

**Important Note:** Reservoir water levels fluctuate seasonally and can impact ramp accessibility. Check current lake elevation before planning your trip, as lower water levels may affect launch conditions. The area is located off Highway 155 (milepost 23) on a signed gravel road, about 0.6 miles from the highway.

This location provides excellent access to the expansive Banks Lake system, with nearby recreation including Franklin D. Roosevelt Lake (500+ miles of shoreline) and Grand Coulee Dam. The large water surface makes it suitable for various paddling distances, though paddlers should be prepared for potentially variable wind and weather conditions on this substantial reservoir.
