The Log House Landing in Scandia provides public boat access to the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway via a cement boat ramp. This is one of several access points along the popular upper St. Croix River and serves as a convenient put-in for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters exploring this scenic corridor. The site includes parking, a dumpster, and vault toilets for visitor convenience.
The St. Croix is wide and flows slowly through this section, making it suitable for paddlers of various skill levels. However, boaters should watch for sandbars, particularly during low-water periods. The National Park Service maintains paddle-in campsites along the upper river, making this an excellent access point for multi-day paddling trips. Note that upstream travel is limited at the Soo Line High Bridge to prevent the spread of zebra mussels.
For current information about amenities, fees, and river conditions, check the National Park Service St. Croix National Scenic Riverway website, which offers interactive river maps and detailed information about the four federal camping zones along the river.
