About This Access Site
Otter Lake County Park offers a convenient public boat launch located on the north side of Emmerson Airline Road at mid-lake. This 602-acre lake in Chippewa County is one of the region's premier fishing destinations, known for walleye, bass, and panfish populations. The park features a sandy swimming beach, picnic area, and 22 wooded campsites, making it an excellent base for a paddling trip or day outing.

**Important restriction**: Only non-motorized boats are permitted on Otter Lake, making it ideal for kayakers and canoeists seeking a quieter paddling experience. The lake's banks are generally steep-sided with riprap lining, so exercise caution when launching and landing. With a maximum depth of 43 feet, the lake offers good water depth for paddling. The park office and bait shop are located on the south side of Emmerson Airline Road. Be aware that the day-use area is gated and locked during certain hours, so plan your visit accordingly.
