Located on Bell Rapids Road near Hagerman, Owsley Bridge provides free day-use access to the Snake River via a concrete boat ramp with loading dock and floating pier. The site features four shade shelters with picnic tables, parking, restrooms, and excellent views of the historic 1921 Owsley Bridge. This is a convenient rest stop along the Thousand Springs Scenic Byway (US 30) and near Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument.
The Snake River at this location offers relatively calm water compared to other sections, making it suitable for paddlers and boaters of varying skill levels. However, paddlers should be aware that the Snake River is a major stream (Stream Order 9) with substantial average flows of nearly 50,000 cubic feet per second and an average velocity of 10.8 feet per second. The river maintains a moderate gradient of approximately 15.8 feet per mile in this region.
