Oxbow Lake

Oxbow Lake is a 523-acre lake in Vilas County near Presque Isle offering a public boat landing with a paved, barrier-free ramp for easy kayak and canoe access. The lake features moderately clear water with a maximum depth of 44 feet, making it suitable for paddlers of various skill levels. The accessible ramp design accommodates paddlers with mobility needs.

The lake supports a healthy fishery including musky, northern pike, walleye, largemouth and smallmouth bass, and panfish, making it an attractive destination for anglers. Nearby camping is available at several facilities including Bobcat Lake Camp, Henry Lake Camp, and Pomeroy Lake Camp, all within 10 miles of the access point. Note that Bobcat Lake Camp operates on a first-come, first-served basis, so arrive early during peak seasons to secure a site.
