The Tallapoosa River in this section is wide and slow-moving, making it well-suited for kayaks, canoes, and small motorized boats. Paddlers can head upstream towards Horseshoe Bend National Military Park or downstream towards the expansive waters of Lake Martin. Be aware that the river current can pick up during periods of high flow. The nearest downstream access is at Peters Island, just 1.25 miles away.
Pace's Point offers basic amenities like security lighting but lacks restrooms or other facilities. The ramp and parking area are paved, but the site is not specifically designated as handicap accessible. Campsites are available within 10 miles at nearby recreation areas.
