Paleface Creek

**Location & Launch Details**
This developed public boat ramp provides access to Morcom Lake via Paleface Creek in northeastern St. Louis County near Melrude. The ramp is located off Morcom Lake Forest Management Road and is well-suited for launching kayaks and canoes.

**What to Expect**
Morcom Lake is a shallow, 178-acre dark water lake with a scenic setting ideal for paddling exploration. Be aware that both the lake and Paleface Creek contain numerous logs and deadheads that pose navigation hazards—proceed cautiously, especially when exploring the creek outlet. The shallow depths make this a better destination for paddlers than larger motorboats. The launch site is free to use and offers a convenient entry point for a relaxing paddle on quieter waters.
