About This Access Site
The Palmyra access point, located in Well Park and maintained by the City of Palmyra, provides public boat ramp access to the North River. This medium-sized river features a moderate gradient of 5.2 feet per mile and an average flow of 252 cubic feet per second, making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and small motorized boats. The site was developed through a Missouri Department of Conservation grant and opened in summer 2007.

The North River in this area is a headwater stream with a total length of 106 miles and elevation drop of 548 feet. Paddlers can expect an average water velocity of 2.08 feet per second and should be prepared for moving water conditions. Beyond the boat ramp, the park offers walking and hiking trails open year-round for non-motorized use. For specific information about amenities, hours of operation, or current conditions, contact the City of Palmyra Parks Department at (573) 769-2223.
