Located 10 miles north of Spearman near Waka in the Texas Panhandle, this access point provides boat launch facilities to Palo Duro Reservoir on Horse Creek. The Palo Duro River Authority maintains three boat ramps at the reservoir—two are typically operational when water levels are full, with a third ramp available during low-water periods. Entry to the park costs $2.00 per person, plus an additional $2.00 for boat ramp use. To reach the north entrance, take Highway 15 north from Spearman and turn onto FM 3214, which crosses the dam directly to the access area.
**Important consideration**: The reservoir is currently experiencing drought conditions that may significantly affect water levels and boat ramp accessibility. Before planning your trip, check the current lake level and contact the Palo Duro Ground Water District or the Palo Duro River Authority for up-to-date information on water conditions and which ramps are operational. This step is essential to avoid arriving at an unusable ramp, especially during low-water periods. Much of the shoreline is accessible for bank activities, and some areas offer handicap-accessible facilities.
