Pascagoula River Park is a well-developed 8.6-acre access point offering excellent facilities for paddlers and boaters. The park features a dedicated boat ramp, an ADA-accessible kayak launch, a 650-foot fishing pier, picnic areas, and a pavilion. With ample parking available, this is a convenient starting point for exploring the lower Pascagoula River. The site also includes an off-leash dog park area.
The Pascagoula River is a major waterway (Stream Order 9) flowing roughly 81 miles to the Gulf of Mexico from this location. Paddlers should be prepared for a large river system with an average flow of over 16,000 cubic feet per second and moderate current averaging 3.2 feet per second. The river's modest gradient (0.5 ft/mile) and proximity to the Gulf mean tidal influences may be present, particularly as you travel downstream toward the estuarine ecosystem.
The park sits near several important ecological areas, including the Grand Bay National Wildlife Refuge and Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve—two of the most biologically productive ecosystems in the northern Gulf of Mexico. This location makes it an ideal base for day trips or the starting point for longer expeditions along the Pascagoula River Blueway.
