Pat Mayse East offers convenient access to Pat Mayse Lake, a 5,400-acre impoundment on Sanders Creek in the Red River Basin near Powderly, Texas. The facility features concrete boat ramps—one single-lane and one two-lane—making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and larger powerboats. This is a day-use area, so visitors launching from the ramp must possess a valid day-use pass (camping is available at the on-site campground if you wish to stay overnight).
The recreation area is well-developed with standard amenities including drinking water, pit toilets, and a dump station. Pat Mayse Lake is a calm, flatwater impoundment ideal for paddlers looking for easier conditions compared to flowing river sections. The area is popular with families for fishing, swimming, and boating. If you plan to use only the boat ramp without camping, plan ahead to obtain your day-use pass before launching. The nearby Pat Mayse West Recreation Area (on the opposite shore) also offers facilities and ramp access if needed.
