The Patterson Shoals boat ramp provides access to the Little River in southwestern Arkansas. This public launch site, part of the larger Millwood Lake recreation area, offers a convenient entry point for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats.
The boat ramp sits along the north bank of the Little River, located just north of the federal fish hatchery. This stretch of the river is noted for its trout fishing opportunities, with the trout waters ending a few miles beyond the Ramsey area. The total distance from the dam to the last access point on the river is 29 miles, making Patterson Shoals a practical launch for day trips and multi-day excursions.
The site features a paved boat ramp and ample unpaved parking. While overnight camping is not available on-site, the launch is conveniently located near several hotels and restaurants, providing added convenience for visiting paddlers and boaters. As an Army Corps of Engineers facility, the Patterson Shoals boat ramp offers free public access, with no fees or reservations required.
