About This Access Site
Pelican Point is a 36-acre public access site offering the only boat ramp and dock access to the Missouri River in this area of northeast Nebraska. The facility is located near Burt County and provides a convenient put-in/take-out point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. To reach the access, take Old Jamestown Road to Sioux Passage County Park and follow the road through the park to the river access area.

The Missouri River at this location is a major waterway with significant flow—averaging over 121,000 cubic feet per second with typical velocities around 7.4 feet per second. Paddlers should be prepared for a large, powerful river with moderate current. The site offers basic amenities including primitive camping (24 pads available), picnic tables, fire grates, shelters, water, and vault toilets. A park permit is required. The campground is budget-friendly and designed for visitors seeking a nature-based experience without crowds or electrical hookups.
