Perch Lake Recreation Area in Rhinelander offers a developed public boat ramp providing convenient access to this 72-acre lake. The rustic 0.81-acre site is specifically designed for non-motorized boating, making it well-suited for kayakers and canoeists. The ramp is located on the west side of the lake and provides straightforward launch and take-out facilities for paddlers of all skill levels.
The site includes helpful amenities for visitors, including vault toilets and a disabled-access fishing pier. A covered shelter building with a fireplace is also available on-site, offering protection from the elements. Note that swimming is not permitted at the park. Perch Lake is popular with anglers targeting panfish and bass, so paddlers should be prepared to share the water with fishing activity.
Just across the road from the access area, the Rainbow Lake Wilderness and North Country Trail provide additional recreation opportunities for those looking to extend their visit beyond the water.
