About This Access Site
The Peshtigo Lake boat ramp in Crandon offers public access to this 232-acre water body in Forest County. The launch site provides a straightforward entry point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats looking to explore the lake. Maximum depth reaches 15 feet, making it suitable for various water activities. The lake supports a healthy fishery including panfish, bass, northern pike, and walleye, so you can expect to share the water with anglers.

The ramp location also provides convenient access to the Peshtigo River system for those interested in paddling beyond the lake. Paddlers venturing downriver should be aware that the river section downstream contains Class I and II rapids and is maintained as a trout fishery, so anglers are commonly present. The adjacent area features a small beach with scenic views ideal for breaks or wildlife observation.

To reach the access site from Highway 41, take the Peshtigo exit near Schacht Road on the north side of town, then head south on County Road B (East Front Street). The ramp provides ample parking and straightforward launch conditions for getting your boat on the water.
