About This Access Site
Phillips Canyon Wildlife Management Area offers public boat access to East Phillips Lake, a 142-acre lake located about four miles east of Johnson Lake near Lexington. The site features a concrete boat ramp maintained by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boats. The lake's distinctive geography includes three long arms extending south from the main body, providing varied paddling routes and exploration opportunities.

Amenities at this Wildlife Management Area include primitive camping sites and restroom facilities, making it a convenient base for day trips or overnight outings. The access area is open year-round. Note that an entrance and/or boat ramp fee may be charged at this location. Recent improvements to the boat ramp and access infrastructure have been completed as part of a cooperative project between Central and the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, ensuring reliable access for paddlers and boaters.
