Pick Hill Access

Pick Hill is a public boat ramp located southeast of Gaffney on the Broad River, accessed via SC Highway 105. The site features a single-lane boat ramp and small parking area, making it suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorized boats. A fishing trail extends approximately 600 feet downstream from the ramp, offering additional access for anglers and paddlers exploring the river corridor.

The Broad River at this location is a large, flowing waterway (Stream Order 7) with an average flow of 7,353 cubic feet per second and moderate gradient of 15.2 feet per mile. Paddlers should expect steady current and be prepared for river conditions typical of a significant Piedmont stream. This access point is one of several public launches on the scenic Broad River corridor, making it convenient for day trips or as part of longer paddling routes through the area.

The site's proximity to historic attractions—including Kings Mountain National Military Park and the Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail—makes it a good base for combining paddling with exploration of the region's Revolutionary War heritage.
