Pickerel Lake

The Pickerel Lake boat ramp is a developed public access point managed by the Pickerel Crooked Lake Association, located on the Kalkaska side of the lake. This is a popular, well-maintained launch suitable for kayaks, canoes, and motorized boats. The ramp features a gravel surface that works well for launching smaller watercraft, with a parking lot and pit toilet facilities available on-site.

Paddlers should be aware that this is a busy motorized launch, particularly during peak seasons, so expect activity from larger boats. The access point is conveniently located near local amenities (the Party Shoppe is roughly a quarter-mile away), making it a practical spot for a day trip. Parking is available but can fill up during busy times. The ramp provides straightforward access to Pickerel Lake's main basin, making it ideal for recreational kayaking and canoeing.
