The Pickerel Lake boat ramp in Laurens is a developed, public access point managed by the Pickerel Crooked Lake Association. This gravel ramp offers parking and pit toilet facilities, making it a functional option for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorized boats. The ramp is located on the Pickerel Lake side of the "Black Hole" and can get busy, particularly with motorized traffic, so paddlers should be prepared for activity on the water.
Parking is somewhat limited at this site, so arrive early during peak times. The ramp is accessed via a road running east from the main area—look for the road just up from the vicinity of Camo Henry and continue approximately halfway down. A convenience store (Party Shoppe) is located about a quarter-mile away, offering basic supplies if needed.
Pickerel Lake is a moderate-sized shallow lake with a mixed fish population including walleye and yellow perch, which supports recreational angling. Paddlers should be aware that this is a popular motorized launch, so expect boat traffic and plan your paddling accordingly.
