About This Access Site
**Location & Access:** The Pickwick Lake boat ramp is located at the southern end of Yellow Creek on the north shore near Scrubb Bridge in Short, Tishomingo County, MS. Access via Highway 25 to County Road 333. The ramp features a 2-lane concrete launch with parking available, making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and larger motorboats.

**What to Expect:** This access point provides entry to Pickwick Lake, a large reservoir formed by Pickwick Landing Dam that spans three states. Yellow Creek is known as an excellent fishing destination, particularly for smallmouth bass and catfish. The lake also features scenic areas like Yellow Creek Cove, which is home to a waterfall. As the northern terminus of the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, Pickwick Lake connects to broader water transportation routes. Amenities in the area include marinas, boat rentals, camping, restaurants, and lodging facilities.

**Paddling Note:** Kayakers and canoeists should be aware that this is a dam-controlled lake rather than a flowing river, so expect flatwater conditions. The area near boat docks, rocky banks, and creek channels tends to be the most active for fishing and recreation.
