Pierce Riffle Park is a small day-use facility located 3.2 miles from Grants Pass on the Rogue River, offering convenient access for kayakers, canoeists, and boaters. The 23-acre park features a boat ramp, picnic areas, vault toilets, and ample parking for vehicles and trailers. The site is easily accessible from Interstate 5 near the town of Merlin, making it an ideal put-in or takeout point for river trips.
The Rogue River in this section offers Class I, mellow water suitable for beginner to intermediate paddlers, with multiple other launch and takeout options available upstream and downstream (including Chinook Park, Lathrop, Robertson Bridge, and Whitehorse Park). Note that the current at Pierce Riffle can be swift, particularly near the boat ramp at takeout—exercise caution when exiting the water to avoid being swept downstream into willow trees. This peaceful section of the Wild & Scenic Rogue River is perfect for a relaxing paddling day, and the surrounding area offers additional recreation opportunities including nearby hiking on the Mountain of the Rogue Trail System.
