About This Access Site
Pigeon Point is a popular boat ramp and access point along the Trinity River, a major waterway in Northern California. The Trinity is a large, fast-moving river, stretching over 640 miles with an average flow of 9,500 cubic feet per second.

The Pigeon Point boat ramp is located at the Pigeon Point Group Campground, a USFS facility that is reservable. The ramp provides easy access to this scenic stretch of the "Wild and Scenic" Trinity River, which is popular with anglers, boaters, and paddlers. Downstream from the ramp, the river features some Class III whitewater rapids, making it a prime spot for whitewater rafting and kayaking.

Campsites and restrooms are available at the adjacent Pigeon Point Campground, providing a convenient base for river trips. Boaters and paddlers should be aware of the Trinity's powerful flow and gradient, and plan accordingly. Overall, Pigeon Point is an excellent launch site for exploring this beautiful and dynamic river system.
