The Nasby Dam access point at Pigeon River Fish & Wildlife Area provides boat ramp access to the Nasby millpond in the Mongo area of LaGrange County. Parking is available at designated parking lot E-3. This location is popular for fishing and wildlife viewing, particularly for migratory waterfowl observation. Electric motor boats are permitted on the ponds and lakes throughout the Wildlife Area.
The Pigeon River is a large, fast-moving waterway with an average flow of 1,236 cubic feet per second and gradient of 23.7 feet per mile, making it suitable for experienced paddlers and boaters. The river stretches 69 miles through northeastern Indiana with significant elevation change. Shoreline fishing is available at the Nasby millpond along with several other lakes and ponds in the Wildlife Area. Be aware that day hunting is permitted on Pigeon River Fish & Wildlife Area property—obtain permission before entering during hunting seasons.
