About This Access Site
Skip's Bridge provides convenient access to Ontario Mill Pond via the Pigeon River Fish & Wildlife Area. This location features a dedicated boat ramp suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boats. Electric motors are permitted on the pond, making it accessible for various watercraft types. The area is part of a larger wildlife management property with multiple access points throughout the facility.

Paddlers should be aware of seasonal waterfowl restrictions—canoeing and kayaking are allowed but may be limited during waterfowl season, so contact the DNR office ahead of time if planning a visit during migration periods. Swimming is prohibited. The Ontario Mill Pond area is noted as an excellent location for observing migratory birds and waterfowl, particularly during migration months. Additional amenities at the Pigeon River Fish & Wildlife Area include parking (lot B-1 serves this access point), picnic areas, and hiking trails, making it a well-rounded destination for paddlers combining recreation with wildlife viewing.
