About This Access Site
Pike Lake is a 488-acre lake located in Lutsen, Cook County, with a maximum depth of 60 feet. A concrete boat ramp provides public access to the lake, making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters. The scenic setting near US Highway 2 offers convenient access for a day trip or longer paddling adventure.

The lake supports populations of walleye, northern pike, crappie, and panfish, making it popular with anglers as well as recreational paddlers. Access is first come, first served, with no reservations required. Note that if you're planning to camp in the area, nearby backcountry campsites on Rice Lake (also accessible by boat) are available on a first-come, first-served basis and include basic amenities like fire grates and latrines—remember to hang food packs, treat water, and practice Leave No Trace principles.
