About This Access Site
Pikes Camp Access provides a well-maintained concrete boat ramp on the Osage River in Jefferson City, offering convenient entry and exit for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. Located at the Highway 50 Bridge area, this access point is situated on a section of river suitable for various paddling skill levels. The site is open to public use during daylight hours (4:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily), though boat launching and landing are permitted 24 hours in areas where the activity is allowed.

The access area supports multiple recreational activities beyond paddling, including fishing, hunting, bird watching, and limited hiking. When planning trips, paddlers should note that downstream conditions can vary—check current river conditions for obstacles like log jams, particularly around the Highway 50 Bridge area. The nearby Highway 50 Access, approximately one mile downriver, provides an alternate take-out or put-in option for loop trips or longer paddles.
