Pillar Point County Park offers boat ramp access to the Strait of Juan de Fuca near Clallam Bay, located 38 miles west of Port Angeles on State Route 112. The facility includes a paved boat ramp, ample parking, and an outhouse. Nearby camping options include Klahowya Campground and Camp Creek Olympic Discovery Trailhead, both within 10 miles.
**Important Safety & Access Information:** Boat landings at this location are extremely dangerous due to challenging water conditions on the Strait of Juan de Fuca. There is no public upland access to the beach—this is boat access only. Paddlers and boaters should be experienced with open water conditions and check current weather and tide forecasts before launching. The adjacent Pysht River empties into a shallow bay to the west, which can have significant tidal fluctuations. Note the contaminated shellfish warnings and check current fishing regulations before harvesting.
This location is best suited for experienced boaters and paddlers comfortable with Strait conditions rather than beginners or casual paddlers.
