Located in Alpine, York County, Boat Mooring #3 provides convenient access to 340-acre Pinchot Lake, a popular destination for paddlers and boaters. The lake welcomes non-motorized watercraft including kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards, as well as electric-motor boats. The access area is open 24 hours daily and offers no launch fees, though mooring and canoe rack spaces are available for rent from April 1 to October 1. Non-motorized boats must display a boat registration from any state, or a launching/mooring permit from Pennsylvania State Parks available at most park offices.
This well-maintained facility is part of a larger state park with multiple amenities including a swim beach, bathhouse facilities, hiking trails, and a campground with pet-friendly areas. With three launch areas around the lake and 286 mooring and canoe rack spaces, Pinchot Lake offers plenty of capacity for recreational paddling and day-use boating. The park is an excellent choice for paddlers seeking a calm, accessible lake experience with nearby facilities and overnight camping options.
