About This Access Site
Pine Creek offers a popular boat launch on the Yellowstone River approximately 9 miles south of Livingston via US-89, then 6 miles east on Pine Creek Road (a narrow, winding forest road). The official launch is located immediately downstream of the Pine Creek Road Bridge. This access point serves as a takeout for floaters coming from Mallard's Rest (about a 3-mile, 1-hour float) and provides a good launching point for downstream paddling. The site is generally open year-round, though spring conditions may include some ice on the ramp.

The Pine Creek Picnic Area offers amenities including 7 picnic sites, a group picnic shelter, accessible tables, toilets, and water. Firewood is available for purchase ($4.50/bundle), and trash pickup is provided. This makes it a convenient spot for paddlers and anglers looking to spend time on the river without traveling far from Livingston. Note that the access road is narrow and winding through the West Absaroka Mountains, so plan accordingly. Weapons discharge is prohibited year-round at this site. For current conditions or questions, contact the Livingston Office at (406) 222-1892.
