About This Access Site
**Location & Access:** Located in Arenac County near Standish, Michigan, this improved dirt boat ramp provides access to the Pine River. To reach the site, take US-23 north to Standish, turn east on Cedar Street, and continue on Pine River Road for approximately 7 miles to the MDNR sign marking Wigwam Access.

**What to Expect:** The Pine River is a designated National Scenic River and a "Blue-Ribbon" cold-water fishery. However, paddlers should note that the lower 26 miles of the river is **not navigable for canoeing or boating**—making this a fishery-focused destination. If you plan to use this access, check current conditions and restrictions with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources beforehand. The area supports both motorized and non-motorized recreation on adjacent lands, with quality commercial services available for fishing and boating activities.

**Recreation Etiquette:** To minimize conflicts between anglers and other watercraft users, boating is encouraged between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily. Verify access restrictions and water conditions before your visit, as this river's primary designation and management focus is cold-water fishing rather than paddling.
