Piney Campground

Piney Campground offers convenient access to the Tennessee River's Kentucky Lake section for kayakers, canoeists, and small boaters. The campground features two boat ramps, providing easy put-in and takeout options. Boaters can take advantage of the available shore access for beaching their vessels.

Kentucky Lake is a large, slow-moving reservoir along the Tennessee River, created by the impoundment of the river behind the Kentucky Dam. The lake stretches over 184 miles, with many coves, inlets, and tributaries to explore by small craft. Paddlers can access the nearby Tennessee and Cross Creeks National Wildlife Refuges, which offer scenic shorelines and opportunities to view diverse wildlife. The campground also provides amenities like water spigots, a dump station, and trash disposal, making it a practical access point for day trips or longer excursions on the lake.
