About This Access Site
**Location & Facilities**
Piney Point Road provides a single-lane boat ramp accommodating all boat types on Toledo Bend Reservoir near Joaquin, Texas (off FM 139, approximately 5 miles south of town). This is one of 33 public access areas on the Texas side of the reservoir, operated by the Sabine River Authority of Texas. The facility is suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats.

**Water Conditions & Character**
Toledo Bend Reservoir sits on the Sabine River, a major waterway (Stream Order 8) with significant flow averaging over 9,100 cubic feet per second. The reservoir offers relatively calm, contained water conditions compared to the river's natural state. The broader Sabine River system drains nearly 10,000 square miles and extends 520 miles, making it a substantial regional water resource. Paddlers can expect reservoir-style conditions with variable water levels depending on season and dam operations.
