About This Access Site
**Location & Access:**
Piscassic Park is a free, public boat launch located at the end of Piscassic Street in downtown Newmarket, NH. To reach it, take Elm Street off NH-108, turn onto Beech Street, then right onto Salmon Street. This small, town-owned park provides convenient access to the Piscassic River (also known as the Lamprey River).

**Facilities & Paddling Conditions:**
The park was recently improved in 2023 with new amenities including a dedicated kayak-canoe rack and updated kiosk panels. The Piscassic River at this location is widened by the McCallen Dam impoundment upstream, creating calm, flat water ideal for kayakers and canoers of all skill levels. This section is known for offering some of the best boating conditions on the river. Town-owned kayaks are available to rent through Newmarket Recreation by calling 603-659-8581. The park is part of the greater Lamprey River system, which flows through multiple Seacoast communities and eventually connects to New Hampshire's Great Bay estuary system.
