About This Access Site
The north boat ramp provides public access to Plantagenet Lake, a 2,531-acre lake in Bemidji, Beltrami County. This access point features a paved parking lot with a dock and launch area, making it convenient for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The lake reaches a maximum depth of 65 feet, offering varied paddling conditions across its expansive surface.

Paddlers will find a diversity of fish species in the lake, including northern pike, walleye, and largemouth bass, making it popular with anglers as well. Note that there are no public swimming beaches on Plantagenet Lake, though two boat access points are available around the perimeter. Seasonal portable services may be available, so plan accordingly for longer outings. The relatively large lake size means conditions can vary—check wind and weather before launching, especially for smaller watercraft.
