About This Access Site
The Platter Flats boat ramp provides access to Lake Texoma, a large reservoir on the Red River along the Oklahoma-Texas border. This site offers a paved, one-lane boat ramp with courtesy docks, making it suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and small motorized boats.

The campground at Platter Flats has additional amenities like a group picnic shelter, flush and vault toilets, showers, and a dump station. While the campground itself is reservable, the boat ramp appears to be available for day-use visitors as well. The location is about 5 miles north of the town of Colbert, Oklahoma, with clear signage directing boaters to the site.

Lake Texoma is a massive reservoir covering over 89,000 acres, with a variety of coves, inlets, and shoreline to explore by small watercraft. Paddlers should be aware of potential wind and wave conditions on the open water, and use caution around the dam and other motorized boat traffic. The Red River below the lake is generally calmer, though access points may be limited.
