About This Access Site
Plowman Creek Park offers a convenient two-lane boat ramp with a courtesy dock and parking area for accessing the upper end of Lake Whitney on the Brazos River. Located off FM 56 near Kopperl in Bosque County, this U.S. Army Corps of Engineers facility is open year-round with day-use fees charged April through September. The ramp provides reliable access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters looking to explore the gentle Brazos River, which flows over sand and rocks in this area.

The park features full amenities including restrooms, a picnic area, and a multi-use trail system (including the 12.5-mile Hopewell Trail). If you're planning an extended visit, 44 campsites are available with varying levels of hookups, along with showers and a dump station. For more information or to reserve campsites, contact the facility at 254-622-3332. From Kopperl, travel south 1 mile on FM 56 and follow signs to the campground entrance.

Plowman Creek Campground is located on the west side of Whitney Lake off the main channel of the Brazos River in Central Texas. Plowman Creek not only offers many campsites but also includes flush toilets, showers, drinking water, a dump station, boat ramp and playground.
Recreation
Boating, fishing, swimming, canoeing and kayaking are popular activities on the river and downstream at Whitney Lake. Anglers can fish for a variety of bass, crappie, and catfish.

The 12.5 mile Hopewell Trail allows hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. Visitors can choose to travel north on the trail to Kimball Bend Park, or south to Lakeside Village and Powelldale Mountain.Facilities
This year-round campground offers 44 campsites in Plowman Creek. Thirty of these sites have water and 30 amp electrical hook up (sites 1-7, 10-24 and equestrian sites 35-44). Twelve sites have water hookups only (sites 8,9 and 25-34). All sites have upright grills, covered picnic tables and a ground grill/fire ring. The park also has 2 restrooms with showers and a trailer dump station. Amenities include flush toilets, showers, drinking water, a dump station, boat ramp, playground and a multi-use trail.
* Please note that water for this facility is supplied by an onsite Public Water Supply (PWS) and in the event of a power ouatage that lasts more than 24 hours visitors may be asked to evacuate the park since water cannot be provided. 
Natural Features
The Brazos River flows gently over sand and rocks at Plowman Creek. The surrounding rolling hills are covered with cedar, Live oak and Post oak.
