About This Access Site
Plowman Creek Park offers a two-lane boat ramp on the upper end of Lake Whitney, providing convenient access to the Brazos River for kayakers, canoeists, and boaters. Located off FM 56 near Kopperl in Bosque County, the ramp features a courtesy dock and dedicated parking area. The site is open year-round, with day-use fees charged April through September. Restroom facilities are available on-site.

Plowman Creek Campground adjoins the access area and offers 44 campsites (many with water and electrical hookups), showers, flush toilets, and a dump station—ideal for paddlers planning overnight trips. Popular activities include kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and swimming. The nearby Hopewell Trail (12.5 miles) provides additional recreation opportunities for visitors.
