About This Access Site
Plum Lake is a scenic 1,057-acre lake located north of downtown Sayner in Vilas County, offering public boat access via ramp facilities on County Highway P on the south side of the lake and at Wilderness Park on the east side. The lake features a maximum depth of 57 feet with moderately clear water, making it suitable for kayaking, canoeing, and motorized boating. The large surface area provides plenty of space for paddlers of various skill levels.

The lake supports a healthy fishery including musky, panfish, largemouth and smallmouth bass, northern pike, and walleye, making it popular with anglers. With two public access points available, paddlers can choose their launch location based on where they plan to explore. Before heading out, check current wind conditions and water levels, as larger lakes like this can develop significant chop in windy conditions.
