About This Access Site
Plymouth Park offers convenient access to Lake Umatilla (John Day Reservoir) on the Columbia River near the small town of Plymouth, Washington. The day-use area and boat ramp are located on a small island, providing straightforward launch facilities for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The site includes a swim beach, courtesy dock, flush toilets, vault toilets, and drinking water. From Kennewick, take US-395 South to Exit 131, then follow State Route 14 West for 1 mile and turn south on Plymouth Road for approximately 1 mile to the site.

This section of the Columbia River supports diverse fishing opportunities, including Chinook, steelhead, walleye, sturgeon, and shad, making it popular with anglers as well as recreational boaters and water sports enthusiasts. The area is also known for abundant wildlife, with mule deer, waterfowl, and raptors commonly sighted. Nearby attractions include McNary Dam and Visitor Center, Cold Springs National Wildlife Refuge, and Umatilla National Wildlife Refuge, offering additional exploration opportunities in the region.
