The Pointe Mouille State Game Area boat ramp provides access to the Huron River near its mouth at Lake Erie. This developed boat launch is suitable for a variety of watercraft, including kayaks, canoes, and small motorboats. The ramp is located at the inlet of the Huron River, an expansive waterway known for its scenic marshes, wildlife refuges, and islands.
Paddlers and boaters can explore the Huron River and its connected waterways, including the nearby Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge. The river offers a mix of calm, flat water as well as some areas with light current. Be cautious of the dyke-lined southern section, which may not be suitable for small craft. Ample parking is available, and the site is situated near several other recreation areas like the River Raisin National Battlefield Park. Visitors are advised to contact the Pointe Mouille office for any current usage guidelines or restrictions.
