About This Access Site
Port Orange Causeway Park is a major 30-acre public access facility on the Halifax River in Volusia County, offering excellent launching options for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The park features seven boat ramps across its east and west sides, ensuring good availability even during busy periods. Additional amenities include ample vehicle and boat parking, three fishing piers, restrooms, picnic tables, and covered pavilions (available for rental).

The Halifax River section here is well-protected and ideal for paddlers of all skill levels. The Intracoastal Waterway provides calm, scenic paddling with opportunities for wildlife viewing—the park is recognized as a prime birding location. The causeway bridge offers convenient access to both sides of the water. This is a full-service launch facility best suited for day trips and recreational paddling rather than primitive camping or wilderness experiences.
