Located on Potholes Reservoir in the Columbia Plateau near Marine View, this park offers excellent access for boaters and paddlers in a scenic desert setting. The park features four boat ramps and 100 feet of dock space, making it well-suited for launching kayaks, canoes, and larger vessels. Ample parking, picnic areas, restrooms, and showers are available on-site, and the park offers both day-use and camping facilities for extended visits.
Potholes Reservoir, created by O'Sullivan Dam as part of the Columbia Basin Project, is characterized by freshwater marshes and glacial depressions in an arid landscape. Water levels fluctuate significantly from spring through fall, so paddlers should check current conditions before visiting. The surrounding Desert Wildlife Recreation Area, which includes Winchester Reservoir and various smaller ponds and marshes, offers additional paddling and exploration opportunities. The area is also popular for fishing and wildlife viewing year-round.
