Poticaw Fishing Camp is located at 11719 Poticaw Landing Road in Vancleave, MS, offering boat ramp access to the West Pascagoula River, Poticaw Bayou, and Rogers Lake in Jackson County. The site includes ample parking and serves as a northern access point to the lower Pascagoula River system.
**Water Conditions & Paddling**
The Pascagoula River is a major waterway (Stream Order 9) with an average flow of approximately 16,200 cubic feet per second and a gentle gradient of 0.5 feet per mile, making it suitable for various paddle craft and motorboats. From this northern access point, paddlers can explore several branching bayous and lakes to the east, including Old Dead River, Parish Lake Bayou, and Bear Bayou. The river flows 81 miles to the Gulf of Mexico with minimal elevation change, creating generally manageable paddling conditions for intermediate to experienced paddlers.
