Pressentine Bar is a day-use-only boat ramp on the Flathead River near Kalispell, offering access to one of Montana's premier paddling and boating destinations. The gravel/river-bottom ramp accommodates kayaks, canoes, rafts, and motorized boats. This is an excellent put-in for floating the popular Pressentine Bar to Old Steel Bridge run—approximately 11 miles of moving water suitable for a half-day trip.
The Flathead River at this location features braided channels with moving water conditions. Spring paddlers should be aware of hazards including high, fast, cold water and occasional trees in the river. The ramp provides access to multiple downriver options: the scenic 11-mile float to Old Steel Bridge, or the longer 15-mile stretch to Sportsman Bridge for full-day adventures. Note that weapons discharge is prohibited at the site. Additional FAS access points in the area include Blakenship Bridge, Old Steel Bridge, Foy's Bend, and Sportsman's Bridge.
