Prettyboy Reservoir near Parkton offers a single boat ramp off Spooks Hill Road for paddlers launching kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards. This scenic impoundment on Gunpowder Falls is ideal for non-motorized recreation, with views of the historic Prettyboy Dam (completed 1932) and access to calm reservoir waters. The reservoir is also home to blue catfish, carp, and crappie, making it popular with anglers.
Before launching, be aware that **all watercraft require a Liberty/Prettyboy Reservoir permit**. Due to zebra mussel concerns, boats used here can only be used on Prettyboy, Liberty, or Loch Raven reservoirs—no cross-water transfers are permitted. There is no marina or rental services available at the site. Additional amenities include a parking area and stairs leading to the dam spillway, offering scenic views where Prettyboy Reservoir's water flows into Gunpowder Falls.
