Promontory Park offers convenient boat access to the North Fork Reservoir of the Clackamas River, located just outside Estacada and within an hour of Portland. The ramp is situated on the main, busier portion of the lake where there are no speed restrictions, making it suitable for motorboats and larger watercraft. This is the closest ramp to Estacada via OR-224E (turn right on E. Faraday Road), and the facility includes basic amenities such as a boat ramp and small beach area.
Kayakers and canoeists should be aware that this location experiences higher motorboat traffic due to its position on the open lake. If you prefer quieter paddling conditions, consider the alternative northern ramp closer to the dam, which has fewer amenities but typically sees lighter use. The reservoir itself offers good fishing opportunities, particularly near the dam area. Note that seasonal closures occur—the ramp operates through late October. For current hours and facility status, contact the Marina at 503-630-5152.
