Pulaski County Park offers a well-maintained boat ramp on Lake Cumberland's Fishing Creek area near Somerset. The public ramp was upgraded in 2016 with doubled width and is accompanied by a courtesy dock, making it convenient for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The large, easily accessible waterfront provides ample space for paddlers to prepare gear and enter the water.
Lake Cumberland is a 100-mile-long reservoir created by Wolf Creek Dam on the Cumberland River, offering expansive paddling opportunities for various skill levels. Beyond water access, the park provides additional amenities including a beach, swimming area, fishing opportunities, hiking and biking trails, and playgrounds. For those planning multi-day trips, two reservable campgrounds are nearby: Waitsboro and Fishing Creek Campgrounds.
To reach the ramp, take KY 80 west of Somerset, then turn right on Pulaski County Water Park Road (approximately 2 miles past the Fishing Creek bridge). This location provides excellent access to one of Kentucky's premier paddling destinations.
