About This Access Site
**Location & Access:** Pump House Landing is a public boat ramp located just downstream of the SC Highway 41 bridge near Andrews in Georgetown County. The site is accessed via Reds Landing Road off SC Hwy 41, approximately 1.5 miles north of Andrews. The landing features a concrete ramp and a large parking lot. Follow one-way traffic signs around the north side of the former marina building to reach the ramp on the south side.

**River Conditions:** The Black River is a major river system with significant flow—averaging over 10,500 cubic feet per second. Paddlers should be prepared for a major river environment with strong current (average velocity 2.83 ft/second) and a steady gradient of 1.5 ft/mile. This is suitable for experienced boaters and paddlers comfortable with larger waterways. The river's substantial flow and size make it ideal for fishing trips and longer-distance paddling adventures in the lowcountry.

**Practical Information:** This is a well-developed public access point with established facilities, making it convenient for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The concrete ramp and ample parking make it a reliable starting point for exploring the Black River. Given the river's size and current, check local conditions before launching and plan your trip accordingly.
