About This Access Site
Green Wing Lake is a 40-acre strip cut lake located in the Denmark Section of Pyramid State Park, near Pinckneyville in Perry County, Illinois. The boat ramp features a concrete launch and floating dock, making it convenient for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. To reach the access site, take State Route 127 west on Pyatt-Cutler Road, then turn south into the Denmark Section approximately 7 miles west of the main Pyramid State Park entrance. Bathrooms are available at the facility.

Boaters should be aware of park regulations: as of 2018, while there is no horsepower limit, all boats and motors must be operated at no-wake speed throughout Pyramid State Park waters. The calm conditions and modest size of Green Wing Lake make it well-suited for recreational paddling, fishing, and leisurely boating. The lake is part of Pyramid State Park's extensive system of over a dozen named lakes in the Denmark Section, offering paddlers options to explore multiple water bodies in the area.
