About This Access Site
**Location & Facilities**
Rabbit Lake's public access point is located on the east side of the lake in Aitkin County, near the community of McGregor. This state-owned access features an earthen boat ramp with no dock, making it a basic but functional launch point for paddlers and small boats. The modest facilities are suited for hand-launched kayaks and canoes as well as trailered boats.

**Lake Characteristics**
Rabbit Lake covers 214 acres with a maximum depth of 51 feet, making it a moderately sized lake suitable for recreational paddling. The water has a brownish tint with moderate clarity (9.5-foot secchi depth as of 2019). Paddlers should expect typical north-central Minnesota lake conditions. The access is situated on a small bay on the east portion of the lake, which may offer some protection from wind depending on conditions.

**Nearby Recreation**
The access point is conveniently located within reach of Rice Lake National Wildlife Refuge, located about 5 miles south near McGregor, offering opportunities to explore protected wetlands and wildlife habitat in the area.
